Country Date to Remember - July 8, 1997
When he was just a youngster, Marty Stuart went to a Connie Smith concert with his mother. After the show, Stuart snapped a photo of the star in her car. He told his mother on the way home that one day, he was going to marry the singer. It didn't happen overnight, but on this date thirteen years ago at an Indian Reservation in South Dakota, the union that Stuart dreamed about took place. As for the picture that Marty took that night, he would wind up placing it in his 2008 coffee table book of photography, Country Music: The Masters. So, for that young fan out there with dreams of Taylor Swift.....you never know!
