Brandie Frampton - Crossover Artist Of The Year!

Hollywood, CA

The small girl from Utah took a trip to the big world of Hollywood this weekend to attend the New Music Weekly Awards at the historic Avalon Theater on the Walk Of Stars to not only have a great time at the event, gracefully mingling with the likes of Anna Nalick, Steven Segal, Carmen Rasmusen, Frank Stallone, Miko Marks, Kyrah and others... but to return with the "Crossover Artist Of The Year" award. "It was just such an honor to be nominated, and to be here" said Frampton after her very first red-carpet/TV/media stroll into the history books.

It was a very exciting event for all involved. Also attending were her record producer Andrew Lane, artistic/video/band director Nyk Fry, and guitarist Trevor Young... not to mention Brandie's parents and sister who have become "execs by default o"f the Utah-based indie record company, D&LF Records, created to support Brandie - at least enough to get signed by a larger entity.

"It's all her. We really don't understand it all, but we're learning and support her live Brandie's dream however we can" said Darin Frampton who is himself shy of the limelight.

"Well, we did something right!" said Fry turning to Lane at the moment of the award announcement. With later reflection it was clear this was just the beginning of the next chapter. The work as only just begun: Emails, texts and calls have been coming in, along with forging strategic alliances for the future. Fry continues, "Make no mistake, Brandie is the real thing, and has the talent. It's just our job to get her the exposure so the people can judge for themselves."

This story is noteable particularly because Brandie will return from her Hollywood weekend to the town of Lindon, Utah, to attend her classes and see her friends at elementary school. Life goes on. Another Utahn, Jonathan "Jeddie" Duffy has cause for celebration for it was he who co-wrote Brandie's first charting song "Day By Day" which yielded as high as #2 in the NMW AC/Hot AC. The latest release "What U See" broke into the top ten just before the awards, perhaps prophetically. "What U See" is the title track for the CD to be released this year, and contains more collaberative work from Grammy Award® winner Noah Gordon.

In any analysis this has been a great year, starting from just rehearsing in a cold warehouse... to Nashville, Disney World, two charting songs, a Hollywood award... two videos... all in about twelve months. Look out for Brandie Frampton! -- STS
